Half of All Investors Use a Property Manager

Half of all property investors hand over the entire management of their rental properties to a real estate agent, according to a survey of investors by consultants BDRC Jones Donald.

The survey also found that three quarters of all landlords surveyed involved a property manager in some aspect of their rental portfolio and tenant management, with less than a quarter self-managing their property investments and tenants.

The survey further suggested that landlords who use a property manager are better off financially and are much more likely to earn a positive cash flow stream from their investments.

This comes as no surprise to Dr Roger Donbavand, managing director of BDRC Jones Donald.

“When you consider that Australian investors have seen five changes to the official cash rate in the last two years and the poorest super returns since 2007, it’s no wonder landlords are reaching out to professionals to ensure investment success.”
